Altitude Angel, the world’s leading UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) technology provider, today announced it is to provide UTM services to Canada’s leading drone flight operations and training institute, Sugu Drones.
Altitude Angel’s GuardianUTM airspace management platform will be used to power Sugu Drones with accurate, real-time and relevant geospatial & flight awareness data for its in-house developed flight planning and logging platform.
In addition to geospatial data, Altitude Angel will also provide Sugu pilots with live, interactive airspace alerts which will inform its drone operators when manned flights are due to intersect with the proposed flight plan – an essential tool for safe operations when operating on or around a commercial airfield, such as Toronto Pearson or Mississauga.
Sugu Drones are already looking to the future, with plans to incorporate Altitude Angel’s ‘game changing’ Strategic CRS (Conflict Resolution Service) in its mission control & autopilot software to de-conflict all Sugu operations from other drone flights, as well as manned aviation flights operating in close proximity. It is Sugu’s goal to offer an additional layer of safety in reference to Transport Canada’s proposed certifications on BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight)
Richard Ellis, Altitude Angel, Chief Business Officer, said: “We are excited Sugu Drones has chosen to integrate our GuardianUTM API into its innovative platform, giving drone operators in Canada access to the most accurate, reliable and trustworthy data available.
“GuardianUTM makes it easy for innovators, like Sugu Drones, to incorporate real-time, high-quality and accurate data into their applications to enable safe flight operations. This allows our customers to focus on what’s important to them, delivering high-quality applications to drone operators.”
Soreign Jackson, Sugu Drones, VP Business Development, added: “We looked at several providers, but it was clear Altitude Angel are the best-in-class at delivering proven, real-time data and UTM services. As we grow our platform in several of our business verticals, it is important we have faith in the strength and reliability of our supplier’s solutions and vision. With Altitude Angel it is unquestionably there. The future is also looking even brighter, with our plans to expand and incorporate real-time air traffic integration, allowing our operations to use a world-leading UTM system.”
Altitude Angel is committed to remaining the world’s foremost UTM and drone management platform by continually expanding and refining its core services to enable its customers to do more, safely, with drones.
About Altitude Angel:
Altitude Angel is an aviation technology company delivering solutions which enable the safer integration and use of fully automated drones into airspace. Through its Airspace Management platform, GuardianUTM O/S, they deliver the essential software platform which enable national deployments of U-Space compatible services, safely unlocking the potential of drones and helping national aviation authorities and air navigation service providers to establish new services to support the growth in the drone industry.
The foundation components of GuardianUTM O/S are also available to enable third-party UTM developers to incorporate enterprise-grade data and services into their UTM solutions.
Altitude Angel was founded by Richard Parker in 2014 and is headquartered in Reading, UK.
Altitude Angel’s developer platform is open and available to all at https://developers.altitudeangel.com.
GuardianUTM enables drone manufacturers and software developers to connect into a rich, dynamic source of accurate, authoritative and relevant information to support geofencing, while offering enhanced UTM capabilities such as a single interface to multi-country flight authorisation.
The system was demonstrated as part of ‘Operation Zenith’ in 2018, offering enhanced airport safeguarding and automated approvals to fly in controlled airspace. Altitude Angel is now bringing online functionality to enable drone pilots anywhere in the world to get 1-click access to controlled airspace.
Its companion product, GuardianUTM O/S, supports all the functionality required to deliver national-grade drone traffic management capabilities to any country that wishes to safely unlock the potential of drones. Introduction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd0pvUrS07g
